Who Pays for Healthcare?

This chart shows the breakdown of who pays for healthcare expenditures in the top 50 countries as ranked by GDP. As you can see, some countries have nationalized medicine and most healthcare costs are paid by government agencies. Of course, those costs are often borne by citizens in the form of taxes. Private spending reflects payments by private insurance plans, consumer out-of-pocket payments and other sources.
