Emergo Group Acquires UK-based Mediqol Ltd., Expands Medical Device Consulting Presence in Europe

February 2, 2010 - Medical device regulatory consulting firm Emergo Group Inc. has acquired Mediqol Ltd. based in Sheffield, England. Mediqol is the UK’s largest privately owned medical device regulatory compliance consultancy.  Both firms assist medical device manufacturers to obtain regulatory clearance to sell their products globally.

Over the past year, Emergo Group has expanded its European presence by opening an office in France in addition to its existing offices in The Netherlands. With Mediqol’s acquisition, Emergo now maintains four offices in Europe.

The acquisition is part of Emergo Group’s long term strategy of becoming a “one stop” resource for international regulatory compliance for medical device companies around the world. The consultancy has currently offices in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Japan, China and Australia, and a presence in India, South Korea and Russia.

Mediqol Ltd will become Emergo UK Ltd and Mr. Rylett will take on the position of Managing Director, Europe for Emergo Group.
