Austin-based Medical Device Consulting Firm Completes Acquisition

July 8, 2005 - Austin-based Emergo Group, Inc. recently completed the acquisition of EMDAR B.V., a consulting firm based in The Netherlands. EMDAR provides Authorized Representative services to medical device companies who want to sell their products in Europe but do not have a physical presence there. The appointment of an Authorized Representative is required by European law.

With the acquisition, Emergo Group will add more than 40 medical device companies to their roster of clients, bringing their total client base to nearly 250. Dr. Jaap Laufer, EMDAR B.V. President and CEO, will join Emergo Group as Vice President of Regulatory and Public Affairs.

The merger was completed on July 1, 2005.
